He then bought a 335 model from Gibson in the ‘80s and got a heavily customized version of which is now known as the only Lucille.

After he played Strats and Les Pauls, Eddie Van realized he wanted something capable of combining the things he loved about both. That’s how his Frankenstrat was born, which was built just as he desired. It was initially painted black before Eddie put stripes of paint on it as his signature style.
